Filter proof your site and see it ranked higher on Google
Every now and again we receive emails from partners saying that they have set up their SEO text, created a blog and a page on social networking sites, but still Google does not recognise their site.
Search engines filters can be very useful to websites, but it is hard to define the reasons why they don’t accept some sites as search engines don’t share information about how they work.
In this article we will explain the do’s and don’ts and how to quality proof your dating site so it doesn’t get banned by search engines like Google.
Something that you should pay close attention to when creating your site is Google quality guidelines
Avoid hidden text or hidden links
Don’t use cloaking or sneaky redirects
Don’t send automated queries to Google
Don’t create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content
Don’t create pages with malicious behavior, such as phishing or installing viruses, trojans, or other badware
Avoid “doorway” pages created just for search engines, or other “cookie cutter” approaches such as affiliate programs with no original content
If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.
When you are starting up, another thing that will affect your search rankings is something that called Sandbox. Google temporarily reduces the page rank of new domains, placing them into what is referred to as its “sandbox” so they can’t reach the top searched sites. It is like a probation period of your site and in time your site will be moved out of it.
Another filter you should be aware of is minus 30. Google applies this automated filter to sites that are practicing spamming SEO techniques. The result is those websites downgraded by 30 positions.
We strongly advise our partners to use SEO techniques to improve rankings of their websites. Google does not deliberately penalise websites and if you uphold the basic principles instead of finding loopholes you could find your site ranked much higher.
