Using keyword-rich domains for your future dating site
One of the clever SEO techniques is to use a domain which also represents a keyword. This kind of set up can help to elevate your domain to the top of the search results. As you know, Google puts a filter on each new site for several months and there’s no way to avoid it. The filter itself excludes all new sites from the SERP for the popular keywords, even if you have created lots of static pages with unique and relevant content. Your site may not be present in Google for a good couple of months. However there is a technique that can help you promote your site regardless of the filter.
You have to research keyword research using: WordTracker, Google Adwords External Tool, Tool by Seobook, or a similar tool. Keywords with more than 600 requests per month normally deliver a satisfactory level of traffic.
Let’s imagine that keyword ‘meet singles nearby’ has 3600 requests per month.
After generating a list of keywords, you can start checking the domains availability. Of course, some of the domains containing competitive keywords may already be taken. Especially the .com or .net ones are very popular. In the dating industry it is not a good idea to go for .info or .biz domains as they are not relevant for dating sites. We would suggest using regional domains ending with .co.uk, .co.za, .us, .ca and so on. Promoting a domain with this kind of a regional TLD on Google is much easier than promoting one ending.com for example. So, let’s consider the situation where the domain ‘meet singles nearby’ is available in the South African zone .co.za. We would then register a domain name – meetsinglesnearby.co.za.
If you were then to use this domain to promote a White Label dating website you would need to point it to our IP address. A very important next step after you pointed the domain would be to write at least 5 keyword-rich articles and add them to your site as static pages. At this point you should also add optimized text on the index page. Now, if you have another resource, a site indexed by Google you should consider adding a link to your new site. The link anchor could be ‘Meet Singles Nearby’ or ‘ meetsinglesneraby.co.za’. Now all you have to do is wait until Google indexes all pages with the unique content you have added. You should try to get links from trusted resources with PR. Ideally these resources would be yours. Two links would usually sufficient. Remember! It usually takes 2-3 weeks to reach TOP 3 of Google search results for chosen keywords, especially for a new site!
